c) The objective of the dissolved oxygen lab is to measure the concentration on dissolved oxygen in a given water sample. After measuring the amount of dissolved oxygen, the next thing to do is calculate the gross productive, net productivity, respiration rate, and primary productivity. This helps learn the importance of carbon and oxygen cycles in an ecosystem, and what factors affect the solubility of dissolved gases in aquatic ecosystems.
